"Tony Stephenson of Kodiak Landscaping has completed two major projects for us at our house in Port Perry.
We first met Tony over a decade ago when the he was a small three-person crew. Our first project was an entire front yard landscaping and driveway. This included a completed driveway, stair entrances, patios, gardens complete with lighting and irrigation. The project was completed on time and on budget as outlined in the contract.
Our second project was far more extensive. This included a pool, outdoor kitchen, revised decks, patios, gardens, out buildings, again with all plantings, lighting and irrigation. Extensive modifications to utilities and grade were required to make this intricate project fit the house and grounds. Completed over the course of a season, the finished project was reading to go in the early fall, and the final product was stunning.
Kodiak provides complete service from concept and design, to the final plantings and all finishing touches. In between, Tony looks after every aspect of the project personally, assembles quality outside trades when necessary, and assures that every stage of the project is completed as per the design and contract. Like everything, you get what you pay for. And with landscaping it is often the work you don't see that is most important for the quality and durability of the final product. Tony said to me once, " Most of the cost is below ground and covered up." But it is that attention to careful preparation that is the bedrock for the project.
Our patios and stone work have remained stable for several years. With simple maintenance your project should retain its just finished appearance for years to come. All major components were warrantied to cover the first two seasons.
As testament, we have recommended Kodiak landscaping to friends and colleagues without reservation. Over the years, Kodiak has expanded to be able to manage larger and more challenging projects, but still maintains the personal touch with each customer. Every detail was attended to and you treated our home like it was your own. Having you on-site actually doing the work with your team was very important to us. The respect that they show for you is evident and the work exceptional. It was a large project that we continue to enjoy every day!
The second project you did for us was our daughter’s Chiropractic Clinic. Adelaide Clinic is located in one of the oldest homes in Lindsay and our approach was to try to be respectful of the historic qualities of this property. Your support on this project was amazing! You recommended a cobblestone driveway and parking area that is simply beautiful. The product you recommended was perfect for the application; you helped us select matching colour tones to compliment the home and built a steel protection bar for the stucco building that is attractive but protects it from possible damage as people back out of spaces and all of it was still within the budget we had hoped for. What was very important in this application was that there would be no heaving of the stonework; the drainage concept you designed works perfectly.
Once again, the expertise, the willingness to work with us and to provide great ideas for design and application that will stand the test of time was very much appreciated.
Both projects were simply worry free. We knew we could hand the projects over to you and it would be done with the utmost care. This is very difficult to find and we really appreciated it.
